Pennsylvania Democrats and Republicans have decided who they want to represent them in crucial row office races this November.
In the race for attorney general, former Auditor General Eugene DePasquale won the Democratic nomination while York County DA Dave Sunday picked up the GOP nod.
Democrats chose state Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta to face Republican incumbent Tim DeFoor in the race for auditor general.
And in the biggest surprise of the night, small business owner Erin McClelland defeated state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro for the Democratic state treasurer nomination. McClelland will face incumbent Republican Stacy Garrity this fall.

NOTABLE / QUOTABLE
"President Biden’s remarks may have been a slip of the tongue; however, my country does not deserve to be labeled as such."

CASEY V. MCCORMICK: It's one of the highest-profile contests this November, but few Pennsylvania swing voters know who the candidates are. Focus groups found little recognition of longtime Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Bob Casey or his GOP challenger, Dave McCormick. Axios reports political observers are split over the significance of that but agreed Casey likely benefits from it more.WARRANT WITHDRAWN: State Rep. Kevin Boyle (D., Philadelphia) was on the ballot Tuesday, one day after a warrant for his arrest was withdrawn due to a legal oversight. Questions remained about the reversal, which The Inquirer (paywall) says followed days of authorities insisting the basis for the warrant — a spousal protection from abuse order — was legitimate when pressed by reporters. - Wave of pro-Palestine college protests reaches Pitt as students occupy lawn and urge divestment, via PublicSource.
BY THE NUMBERS: Republicans posted voter registration gains over Democrats in each of Pennsylvania's 67 counties, according to Nick Field's county-by-county analysis of the latest numbers for Capital-Star. Democrats still have the overall advantage, but it's been halved since the last presidential cycle. Field acknowledges the predictive limits of the data but adds that doesn’t mean they should be ignored. |

PRIVACY CONCERNS: A progressive group is urging Pennsylvania's attorney general and four others nationwide to investigate the medical data privacy practices of crisis pregnancy centers, per NBC News.
GOV'T WEBSITE: Pennsylvania's General Assembly is rolling out a new website — as @ErikOpenRecords noted on X Tuesday — and you can check out the beta version here. Here's the current site for reference.
'P' FOR PASSYUNK: How do you pronounce Passyunk? The New Yorker says it's "'passion' with a 'k.'" Philadelphians are all over the map. The Inquirer (paywall) explains why we may be "forever bound to debate it."
COASTER CLAIM: A new lawsuit says the Kennywood amusement park near Pittsburgh kept the season-long closure of its flagship roller coaster a secret until last week to bolster season pass sales, TribLIVE reports.
FOUND MONEY: Americans throw away tens of millions of dollars in coins each year. Wall Street Journal (paywall) reports one waste-management facility in Bucks County is on a treasure hunt to find it. |
